This woodland garden was created by the late Cubby Acland, who was regional
agent for the National Trust until his retirement in 1973.
It covers about 8 acres, and has a fine collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, trees and shrubs.
About half of the area is on very steep hillside, complete with a woodland beck and small waterfalls. There are wonderful views over Lake Windermere.
Open April to June, daily, 10.30 am - 6.30 pm. From July to end October only open by appointment with National Trust
